Energy Recovery Ventilators
ERVs or energy recovery ventilators serve multiple purposes. An ERV differs from an HRV in that Energy Recovery captures heat and humidity while the HRV (heat recovery ventilator) capture only heat. If there is no plan for humidification in the space, an HRV will work great. You would use an ERV/HRV to bring in fresh air to breathe and to use the exhausting ventilation air to condition the incoming outdoor air. We would recommend one in tight construction, slab-cooling applications and whenever there is lots of bathroom vents.
